German sports car maker Porsche has unveiled the new Cayman sports coupe at the ongoing 2012 Los Angeles auto show in the US.

The new two-seat mid-engine sports coupe is offered in two versions including the Cayman and the Cayman S.

Base model Cayman is powered by a 2.7L flat six-cylinder engine that generates an output of 275hp, while achieving a top speed of 266km/h and 0-100kmph sprint in 5.4 seconds.

Porsche's Cayman S version is powered by 3.4L engine that produces an output of about 325hp, while sprints from standstill to 100 km/h in about 4.7 seconds and achieves a top speed of 283km/h.

According to the firm, both the engines will be mated to a standard manual six-speed transmission, while a seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) can be opted to achieve improved performance and fuel economy.

Optional features of the new sports coupe include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Burmester sound system, keyless Entry & Drive system.

The new sports coupe is scheduled to be launched in Europe on 02 March 2013.
